Tasting with Telmo Rodriguez

Tierra Nuestra, one of the most prestigious Andalusian firms related to the world of wine, provided once again an amazing surprise by the presence at its headquarters in Huelva (Spain) of Telmo Rodriguez, one of the most interesting and important winemakers of the Spanish panorama and one of our best representative arround the world.
Vinos Telmo Rodríguez company has a large presence in areas of Northwestern Spain (Valdeorras, Ribera, Rueda, Toro ...) as well as Rioja, Alicante and Malaga.

This restless and unconventional winemaker Telmo, first of all, defends the quality of wine linked to its origin. Lover of traditional viticulture methods, such as the hand picking, vessel vineyards, or the utilization of cement tanks or wooden tubs. Wine has to be identified with the soil, with the place where it was born. His philosophy leads him to defend short productions from different regions, compared to those large industrial quantities; to go for a few clusters in strains that result in low yields vineyards, in the research of native varieties, to not abuse phytosanitary treatments.

His concern for identifying the wine with its "terroir" has led him to regain lost varieties and vineyards such as “Mountain” in Malaga (Southern Spain), vineyards in Cebreros (Sierra de Gredos, Ávila, Center Spain) or also in Valdeorras (Western Spain).
To the delight of professionals and wine lovers gathered there, Telmo was present with a selection of ten wines from his best references that definitely did not disappoint anyone.
