Alilian. Tasting with Cote García

Once again Tierra Nuestra sponsored the presentation of a new project, this time come from Ribera del Duero, Spain, a new winery that comes from the actual tendences in wine consumption. Founded in 2013, Alilian is one of the first wineries with Chinese capital created in Spain. While their vocation is  mainly being an exporter, since 80% of its production goes to China, the essence of the project is fully Spanish. Behind the brand are Teodoro Ortega in front of the administration, and Cote Garcia, the winemaker responsible for giving life to the great wines produced there.

Cote, Teodoro Ortega, y María José
The concept of wine from "terroir" of outstanding quality is part of the Alilian philosophy. Cote Garcia, restless and a free spirit vintner, ensures that becomes a reality. His imprint is present in each of their wines. The process begins in the vineyard, with a selection of old vines, some of them almost one hundred years old, and the selected manual harvest, bunch by bunch. Biodynamics is one of its premises, and therefore produces wines very close to the ecological parameters. In an area where rainfall is scarce, and very strong temperature contrast, it is not easy to get good levels of acidity. So, that is the personal touch that leads him to take risks and overcome this challenge, producing balanced wines where the acidity is very present. These are wines designed to last, longevity and different sensations are some of the keys that result from processing personal style.

 prémora 2014

Red wine from old vineyards, made entirely from (Tinta del Pais) Tempranillo grape. It highlights its limpid appearence and its red cherry colour, with dense wine tears. It is fruity, with aromas of black fruit. But after it has been opened, new flavors appears, such as toasted, minerals. It is sweet, fresh, lively, persistent in the mouth and a deep aftertaste. Long drink wine that invites to be drunk. It has a strong integrated acidity, with a good balance between fruit and wood.

BUENAGENTE 2013

A cherry red colour with violet hues predominate in sight. It is a clean wine - a quality that we will see repeated in all these wines -, it presents complex aromas, from roasted (18 months in new American and French oak barrels) to milk, vanilla, and licorice. Wood, black fruit, and acidity appear again balanced. It is a silky wine, made to evolve in bottle, persistent, and easy to drink.

camino del abuelo 2013

Visually is a red wine of cherry colour and intense layer. It grows in very old, even ancient vineyards, it contains a small percentage of grapes Aragones with the Tempranillo. A very complex wine, designed to last for many years, it should evolve to its best in the bottle. However, as the wine is opening they appear multitude of different aromas. From the ripe red fruit, mineral notes, balsamic, to toasted reminiscent of rolling tobacco. Licorice is also present, and spices, such as cloves. A wine to drink slowly, tasting it second by second. Again the perfect balance between wood, fruit and acidity is present. A wine in which the sensations are guaranteed.
