La Pitanza, a traditional tavern in Leon, Spain


In the heart of the city of Leon , in a street that connects the magnificent Plaza Mayor , and its beautiful cathedral, a Gothic style pearl ;it is placed this unique tavern , which since opening has been approached the world of wine to every traveler or citizen got in there. Conceived in a rustic style, its walls are still very much remains of the old Roman wall. In its menu we find wines from all over Spain , but its specialty is  local wines , such as Tierra de Leon, and Bierzo .



 
In addition to take a wine, and be advised by the recommendations of Vicente , his owner managing the tavern from the beginning, or the barwoman on charge, Virginia, we will be able to enjoy delicious local products: cecina (smoked cow meat), chorizo ​​, lomo (smoked pork meat), salami etc . Divided into two floors, offers a cozy space-cellar for tastings in an easy way. You can also can get all wine and products to take away, at different prices to those paid in the tavern . An inescapable place on a visit to Leon. 
They have their own brand specialized in wine from Tierra de Leon, and cold meats, "Doctor Picudo." An approximate price  for a bottle of wine 15€ and  tapa of cecina 10€. (Price for  2/3 people).
