Papuxa, a real tavern in Rivadavia, Galicia, Spain

A blast from the past. When we get in the Papuxa Tavern, we realised that we have come back to other age. And it is no exactly “Vintage”, itself is part of the same past that has gone. A family business, their now young owners, have become it more cool. Ask for your wine, and you will have an empty “cunca” (cup in galician language) hold with your hands, but pretty kindly, they will tell you where the barrels of wine are, red and white, and you could selfservice, as much as you want. Furthermore, among old fashioned and genuine benches and tables, you could have their awesome galician pies (empanadas gallegas), octopus (pulpo), cheese, ham, an excelent bread, etc. There is also a terrace, perfect for these warmer days. A place owes to be visited.
